Two friends, Roger and Ashley invited me on camping trip in the Gardens of Stone State Conservation Area.

We camped at a nice campsite in the headwaters of Carne Creek. The campsite was about two hundred metres from a fire road. There was a nice woodland, and quite open where we camped.

A lot of the ground was covered with Prostrate Grevillea.

And the Wattle was blooming.

And I had this nice Ramaria sp. growing near my tent –

It was very restful and pleasant spot.

Ashley departed the next morning, and Roger and myself first visited the northern Lost City area. The track was closed at the time, so we could not go far.

Isopogon sp.

Wolgan Snow Gum –

Brittle Gum

WE then headed out along another fire road to a great scenic spot.

We walked the last bit.

A climb up a pagoda revealed some great views.

Distant cliffs had evidence of Peregrine Falcon roosts.

Yes, a very special area. Very nice to visit.

Many thanks to Roger for organising the trip.
