Nerriga Visit 5 – 7 July 2026

I had the pleasure to join John and his two young sons, Jasper and Sebastian and head south to visit his mother and her partner at their property at Oallen, near Nerriga in the Southern Highlands.

The property borders the Corang River, which starts in the Budawangs and then lower down joins the Shoalhaven River. John’s mother was holding an event – a large BBQ to farewell two visitors to the area from England, who were on a working holiday. They had been working at Nerriga and the BBQ as attended by many in the local community.

I did not take my camera, which was a mistake. But I did manage to take some phone photos.

And I was fortunate to spot a platypus in the River –

The rare Corang Pine grows on the property.

It was really nice to visit this beautiful place again. And many thanks to John’s mother Sue, and her partner John “Horri” for their fantastic hospitality.
