Birds at Bicentennial Park – 15 July 2018

I headed back out to Bicentennial Park at Homebush Bay for another day of bird photography.

White-plumed Honeyeater

I started by trying to photograph some of the swiftly moving Welcome Swallows –

And some Fairy-Wrens and Black Swans –

I didn’t see too may interesting birds close up in the main pools, so I headed to the shipwreck area. On the way I paused to photograph some White-plumed Honeyeaters.

At the shipwreck observation platform, there were the usual birds flying past – Cormorants and Herons.

Then a Darter landed nearby –

I think this bird is a Butcher Bird –

Back at the main pools I photographed some Black-winged stilts.

I then spotted a single Black-fronted Dotterel. I got a few photos before it flew off.

Then as I was starting to leave, I stopped to photograph a Willie Wagtail flying low over the water – probably after insects.

And, lastly, some Superb Fairy-wrens –
