Kurnell – Towra Point – Cronulla – 15 February 2019

I spent an interesting day exploring some of the area near Kurnell and Cronulla. We started off by visiting the coast near Doughboy Head. This can be reached by a road that leaves the Kurnell Road just past the Desalination Plant.

This is a popular fishing and surfing spot. I was on the lookout for birds, but ended up taking photos of the surfers.

We walked a short way along the coast to the north and south, and then returned to Digi Dave’s car.

We next headed to a short walking track that does a loop near Quibray Bay. The whole way along the track (a closed road) was covered in shells. Not a midden but rather remains of oyster shells from an old abandoned oyster farm.

We fished by visiting the coast south of Cronulla -and walking on the coastal path to an old research station.
