Fungi at Coachwood Glen – 18 July 2019

I spent an interesting day looking for fungi at Coachwood Glen with Liz Kabanoff. Conditions were quite dry and we had to search very thoroughly to find what we did. Coachwood Glen is just off the Megalong Valley Road, not too far from Blackheath.

Here are some of the fungi that we found. First the waxcaps, most of which were a bit old and dried out.

We found quite a few Ascocoryne sarcoides growing on logs –

Some had foragers on them –

Another fungus that I found growing on wood was a very tiny species that I have no clue what it is.

Some of the other fungi that we found –

And a slime mould –

More photos together with identifications are online here on my website.
