Curra Moors Walk – 7 August 2019

I joined Brian Everingham and others from the National Parks Association of NSW on a walk through the Curra Moors of Royal National Park. August is a good time to visit the park for the wildflowers, and indeed on this walk we were greeted by an amazing display.

In particular, two plants were incredible in their prolific flowers – the Grass Trees and the Gymea Lilies.

In the party were Brian, Valerie, Sue B, Sue W, Ken, Ross, Esther, Helen and myself.

We walked from the Curra Moors carpark to Eagle Rock, and then south along the Coastal Track to above Garie Beach, and then back through the Curra Moors to pick up our original track.

As well as the wild flowers, we did see a number of whales.

And the flowers –

And a few birds –

This was a most magnificent walk. Thanks to Brian for organising it.
