A Quick Visit to Sydney Park – 20 January 2020

On my way back from the Mountains, I stopped off and spent some time at Sydney Park at St Peters. I was on the lookout for certain birds – but had no luck spotting them.

The weather was threatening with thunderstorms. And a times the sky grew ominously black. But I checked the rain radar a few times and it appeared the storms were going around Sydney Park.

I did not see too many unusual birds. I did see a Blue-tongued Skink crossing one of the paths –

And some other reptiles –

These are all Short-necked Turtles (Emydura sp.). Thanks to Ken Griffiths for this id.

Here is  a Little Pied Cormorant swimming and then it had a contretemps with another Little Pied Cormorant.

Sydney Park is an interesting place to spend some time.
