Fungi at Ferndale Park – 12 April 2020

I went to Ferndale Park at Chatswood for my exercise break. This enabled me to have good walk in bushland, and also look for any fungi that was out. The area was starting to dry out, so more rain is needed for more fungi to appear.

Here is some of what I found –

There were fair number of corals starting to appear –

During the past few years, I have seen Clavicorona taxophila appear at two spots in Ferndale Park. It was just starting to appear again this season –

And it is always good to spot some Clavaria zollingeri

As well, there were quite a few of these large polypores that had emerged from the leaf litter. They were growing in exactly the small place I had seen them the year before. I think they are Laccocephalum hartmannii.

There was also some Toothed Jelly (Pseudohynum gelatinosum) now out.

This often appears growing on the same log or tree each season.

Some of the other fungi –
