Sassafras Gully Fungi – 22 July 2020

I had not been down Sassafras Gully to check out the fungi for a while, and thought another visit would be good. I was hoping the fungi would be better than what I had seen the day before in Wolli Ck. With a lot of looking I did find a reasonable amount out, but very little fresh fungi, and what I found was drying out and falling to bits.

Hygrocybe anomala var. anomala

on this trip, I went in via the track from Sassafras Gully Road and walked down to the Lagoon at Glenbrook Ck, then I walked back out via the Wiggins Track.

The first fungi I found were both Cordyceps –

Ophiocordyceps robertsii

Cordyceps hawkesii

Here are some of the waxcaps  –

I think these are probably Hygrocybe miniata –

Hygrocybe aurantiopallens

Hygrocybe lilaceolamellata

Gliophorus graminicolor

Hygrocybe sp.

I found two examples of this orange species. I am not sure what they are.

Gliophorus chromolimoneus

Humidicutis sp. is my best guess for these green waxcaps. The first one was quite large and by itself.

I later found these two –

Hygrocybe austropratensis

Probably Hygrocybe apricosa

Hygrocybe anomala var. anomala –

Hygrocybe sp.

Hygrocybe sp.

The one above was tiny, and I didn’t see the gills. It may be Hygrocybe lilaceolamellata.

Some of the other fungi –

Urnula campylospora

Entoloma sp.

Ramariopsis sp.
