I went on an excellent walk with Bob and Doug to visit some Aboriginal art sites near Euroka, in the Glenbrook section of Blue Mountains National Park. The art sites were varied with ochre hand stencils, white ochre art and charcoal art. As well, we observed many birds and wildflowers.
The first site we visited was a just a single sharpening groove, not too far away from the visitor centre for the National Park.

After driving out to near Euroka, we set off along a track through open woodland.
We spotted some nice Caladenia sp. orchids –

We then visited a small overhang nearby. It had many of these holes – perhaps made by insects?
The overhang features a panel of charcoal art. Here are some motifs – one appears to be an emu.

We then visited second site. This was an another overhang and this one featured red ochre hand stencils. Many of them very faint.

We then visited two lookout nearby.
Mt Portal
This lookout has great views of the Cumberland Plain.
Tunnel View Lookout
Great views of Glenbrook Gorge and the Kurrajong Fault.
We could see rock climbers below on the cliffs –
It was then time for lunch, which we had at Euroka.

There were lots of other birds at Euroka.

This cave had one small panel of charcoal art –
The next cave was very interesting with white ochre art and and hand stencils. There was also some red ochre art.
