Wolli Creek Nature Walk – 13 October 2020

It had been a while since I had walked down the Two Valleys Track along Wolli Creek. I had recently heard some reports of Scarlet Honeyeaters and Variegated Fairy-wrens being seen at two spots along the creek, so that provided a good excuse to make this afternoon visit.

In the end, I failed to see both of these species, but still had an interesting walk and enjoyed the exercise.

Here are some of the birds I saw along the way –

New Holland Honeyeaters

Red Wattlebird

Silvereye

Superb Fairy-wren

Brown Goshawk

I also saw these nice rock orchids in flower. They were growing in the cliffs above the old swimming pool.

I noted that there were no Flying Foxes at their usual camp.

I ended up walking from Bexley North to Tempe.
