Dawn at Govetts Leap – 28 December 2020

After canyoning, some of us stayed the night at Blackheath, enjoying Enmoore’s hospitality. I got up early in the morning and wandered down the road a sort distance to Govetts Leap for sunrise.

The sunrise was a bit of a fizzer. The Sun soon hit a thick band of clouds.

It was too early to return to Enmoore’s house – everyone else would be still asleep. So I walked back via a slower route – along the Fairfax Track. This was a nice way to walk back – there was a nice lookout and lots of wld flowers. Here are some orchids –

Horned Orchid – Orthoceras strictum

Yellow Leak OrchidPrasophyllum flavum

Midge Orchid

And here are some nice Grass Trees –

Back at Enmoore’s place – here are some birds –

New Holland Honeyeater

Brown Gerygone

Brown Thornbill

Striated Thornbill

And this moth – I think it is type of Hawk Moth –
