Fungi at Bola Creek – 3 March 2021

I was keen to have a look at Bola Creek in Royal National Park to see what fungi was out. Digi Dave had suggested a visit – and I was pleased to join him. We found a reasonable amount of fungi out.

Once we had visited the creek area, we walked out via the Forest Track.

Here is some of the fungi we found –

First some Waxcaps.

Hygrocybe miniata

Hygrocybe sp.

This one looks like Hygrocybe roseoflavida, but it could also be something else.

Hygrocybe anomala

And now for some Coral Fungi.

Clavulinopsis amoena

Clavulinopsis sulcata

Clavaria sp.

Now, for some of the other fungi.

This one is Filoboletus manipularis. It has pores rather than gills and is supposed to be bioluminescent. I took small sample home and later look at it after dark and could not see any glowing. Perhaps too dry or too old?

And now for two species of Cordyceps. The first is the common Drechmeria gunnii (old name – Cordyceps gunnii)

I am not sure what this next one is –

We also found a fair amount of Trumpet Fungi out. Craterellus cornucopioides.

Cortinarius sp.

Cyptotrama asprata

Amanita xanthocephala

Boletellus emodensis

Mucronella pendula

I don’t know what this next fungus is. It is only about 2 cm tall and was growing on a dirt bank. I have seen the same species recently at Birdwood Gully. It appears to have pores.

Trogia sp.

We found three examples of Coprinus atramentarius on the Forest Track, and each in different stage –

Amanita sp.

And we also saw this Weeping Polypore –
