Day 79 of lockdown. Back on the bike for a morning ride down the Cooks River. Rain was forecast from about 11 am, but when I was down at Cahill Park, the weather still looked reasonable, so I continued on to Barton Park.
As usual, I took a camera, but this time I did not spot very many birds. No Osprey, No Kingfishers.
I cycled to the Muddy Creek end of the Spring St Canal. There I ran into fellow bird photographer Sarah. She had had better luck than me – seeing a Black-shouldered Kite earlier. Soon after, another bird photographer, Adam, arrived.
Here is a Superb Fairy-wren –
And in the same tree I had seen a Grey Goshawk perched on previous visit, was a Little Wattlebird –
There were plenty of New Holland Honeyeaters –
I had a look in the pond at Landing Lights Wetland. There were the usual Pied Stilts.
And a Great Egret arrived –
It looked like it was about to rain, so I headed home. I did spend some time at Cahill Park and Tempe Reserve, hoping that the osprey would arrive. No luck.
I then started for home. In Gough Whitlam Park, I ran into fellow bird photographer Daniele. We looked at the Striated Heron on its nest –
And some of the Rainbow Lorikeets in Gough Whitlam Park –
