More Birds – Barton Park and the Cooks River – 22 October 2021

I had been to Sydney Park in the morning for some bird photography, then returned home in time to meet two friends Roger and Digi Dave for a cafe lunch. Something we had not been able to do for a long time. After this pleasant get together, I headed down to Barton Park with Digi Dave to see what birds were out.

It was actually pretty quiet compared to previous visits. By thus stage of the day it was rather warm. Here are some that we saw, mainly at Landing Lights Wetland.

Chestnut Teals

Pied Stilt

Welcome Swallow

Golden-headed Cisticola

We then headed to Gough Whitlam Park on the Cooks River. There were lots of little fish in the Billabong –

And here is a Red Wattlebird

And the chick of the nesting Tawny Frogmouth seems to be doing well –

Thanks to Digi Dave for the driving.
