Mudlarks – Cooks River Bird Survey – 8 Feb 2022

It was time (2nd Tuesday of the month) for the Mudlarks Bird Survey. This month the group surveyed downstream from the Lang St bridge. The weather was cool and wet, but the rain held off – mostly, while we were surveying.

The highlight this survey was the spotting of a pair of Tawny Frogmouths at the Dibble Street Waterhole.

We don’t know if this a new pair in the area or a pair that have relocated to this spot.

Here are some of the other birds that were seen –

Little Corella

White-faced Heron

Australasian Figbirds

Willie Wagtails

Welcome Swallows

Later on, it did rain, but while we were having morning tea under shelter at Ewen Park.
