I was staying at my Sister and Brother in Law’s house at West Ulverstone in Tasmania, and I was fortunate that my sister was keen to spend a few days with me looking for fungi in some of the nearby rainforests. The first place we visited was Ferndene Reserve at the base of the Dial Range near Penguin.
We found good range of fungi out. Here is some of what we spotted –
Hygrocybe firma
This one was growing on a log –
Hymenotorrendiella clelandii
Pseudohydnum gelatinosum
Perhaps Melanophyllum haematospermum –
Hypocrea gelatinosa
Mycena mulawaestris
Another cup –
Clavulina cristata
Hymenopellis gigaspora
Hymenoscyphus sp.
Mycena lazulina
Cruentomycena viscidocruenta
Resupinatus sp.
Hygrocybe rodwayi
Trogia sp.
Artomyces colensoi
Cordyceps tenuipes
Mycena interrupta
Pholiota malicola
Armillaria sp.
Clavulina cristata
Grifola colensoi
Aseroë rubra
And we spotted this interesting Nematode Worm – Canaria sp.
Not bad for a few hours.
