Nature at Oatley Park – 29 December 2022

Valerie joined me for an interesting day wandering around Oatley Park and Lime Kiln Bay observing Nature.

There was plenty to see.

Fringe Lilies were in profusion –

This Sulphur-crested Cockatoo was eating Flannel Flowers –

Rainbow Lorikeet

Crimson Rosella

At the Lime Kiln Bay Wetlands, a family of Dusky Moorhen

And one of the usual Water Dragons

We found a single Beard OrchidCalochilus gracimillus –

There were plenty of Trigger Plants

Christmas Bush

Lobelia dentata –

The Mangroves

Hyacinth OrchidDipodium variegatum –

Brown Thornbill –

White-browed Scrubwren

The Georges River from Websters Lookout –

On the far side (Lugano) we could see a pair of Ospreys

Rainbow Lorikeet – 

And just before we finished, at the kids funpack, some of the trees seem to have been very savagely trimmed. Not good.
