A wet day was forecast, but didn’t eventuate, so a planned picnic could go ahead. It was going to be held at Callan Park.

I walked to the park from Marion St Light Rail Station. Early on, I heard an aerial commotion, and looked up and spotted a Brown Goshawk flash past –

In nearly tree, I spotted an nesting White-faced Heron –

At Callan Park – I met the others – Burnsie, Eva, Martin, Stacey and her daughter Carmen, John and Chuin Nee and their two boys Jasper and Sebastian. After avery pleasant shared lunch, I showed the party the engravings I had studied a few days earlier. In the subdued light, some were much easier to see.
