Fungi at Birdwood Gully – 16 April 2023

I decided to travel up to Springwood for a look down Birdwood Gully to see what fungi was out. It turned out to be reasonable.

I had to look carefully though for what I found, and some species I was hoping to find where not out.

Early on, I spotted this developing bolete – Phlebopus marginatus

Hygrocybe sp.

I saw fair number of waxcaps out, but they all seemed to red ones of probably the same species. Perhaps Hygrocybe miniata.

I spotted dozens of these out in one place like on my previous visit. There true species may be unknown. Perhaps Entoloma virescens or Inocephalus virescens? But the species has not been confirmed.
