I had reasonable day at Long Reef photographing the birds – both resident and migratory.
When I arrived, the tide was low, so I walked out onto the rock platform to look for the migratory birds. Here is one of a pair of Double-banded Plovers –
Then I was distracted as an Osprey appeared.
But group of Ravens also agreed and escorted the Osprey away.
Back to the rock platform.

This Crested Tern has caught small fish. Other birds want it!

I then climbed up to the higher level. A huge flock of Little Corellas was on the golf course –
Then I saw strange sight. An Australian Raven with a fish. I know they visit the rock platform a lot, but didn’t know they can catch fish –
Lower down – I spotted a Nankeen Kestrel hunting –
And then another Raven appeared with a fish –
Back to the Kestrel –
Then an Osprey flew a bit closer –
It flew away, so back to the Kestrel –
Now there were two Kestrels hunting –
But, I spotted the Osprey on the rock platform, so I made by way down –
It then had a bath –
I knew it would soon fly off, but was out of luck with the take-off. It took off towards the sea.
And a Raven encouraged it to leave –
