Christmas Post – Hazelbrook – Waterfalls, Orchids and Birds, and a few Birds at Ellalong 24 – 25 December 2023

On Christmas Eve, I travelled up to Hazelbrook to stay at my sister and brother in law’s place. Then on Christmas Day, we headed to Ellalong  in the Hunter Valley to join a family get together.

I had my camera with me. At Hazelbrook, the rain cleared for long enough for me to visit the local waterfall circuit walk, and also snap some birds around the house.

A pair of King Parrots were close to the house –

Then I set off for the waterfalls – walk-in down the track from Oaklands Road. A shot way along I spotted some Large Tongue Orchids – Cryptostylis subulata
