Wolli Creek Fungi – 21 May 2024

Both Valerie and Sue were keen to see some of the fungi I had found recently in Wolli Creek Regional Park, so we decided to do a walk down from Bexlery North to Turrella via the Two Valleys Track. Along the way, we found some nice fungi.

The upper section, between Bexley Road and Hartill-law Avenue was quite poor.

Hymenopellis gigaspora

Hygrocybe sp.

The next group were mainly found close to Girrahween Park.

Ramariopsis crocea

Boletellus sinapipes

Cortinarius metallicus

Thanks to Todd Huang for the i.d. of this.

This is one species that occurs after a bushfire – Anthracobia muelleri and we found it in the burnt out area where there had been a recent hazard reduction burn.

Fistulinella mollis

A large polypore. Perhaps Inonotus albertinii

Cuphophyllus austropratensis

And further along the track –

Conjoined Russula rosea

Entoloma sp.

Gliophorus graminicolor

Descolea recedens

Gliophorus graminicolor

These were very tiny. Perhaps Gliophorus graminicolor, but they could also be emerging Humidicutis viridimagentea

More observations will be needed to see what these develop into.

Hygrocybe taekeri

It was good to see this species and to see more littles ones emerging –

These two corals were found in a lower section near Turrella Reserve –

Clavulinopsis sulcata

Clavulinopsis amoena
