This was a return visit to spot I had already been twice previously to look for Parrot Waxcaps (members of the Gliophorus psittacinus group). On the last visit, I had seen one, but had found six on the first visit. Would more be out?
After a lot of searching, I spotted one of the Gliophorus psittacinus group. See the photo above and below.
In searching for these, I had found a lot of the usual fungi seen in this spot.
Perhaps Clavulinopsis corallinorosacea –
Quite tiny – Clavulinopsis sp.
Cuphophyllus austropratensis
Ramariopsis simplex
Clavulinopsis amoena
Hygrocybe reesiae
I like this tiny fawn coloured coral – Ramariopsis sp. –
And is this a different species or one that has been infected with a mould?
Geoglossum sp.
Clavulina cinerea
Corybas Orchid
Russula rosea
Cortinarius rotundisporus and Cortinarius sp. –
I think this is very young Hydnellum fraudulentum –
These may grown and coalesce into a much larger fungus. I will need to come back and see if it progresses and forms spines.
Cortinarius rotundisporus
Ramaria lorithamnus
Cortinarius austrovenetus
Cortinarius archeri
Omphalotus nidiformis
This had been a short but very interesting visit.
