Wolli Creek – Fungi and Orchids – 21 June 2024

This was another brief visit to see if there had been new fungi emerging from the leaf litter in Wolli Creek Regional Park. The answer was no.

Upstream of Paperbark Creek there was very little fungi. I did find a few red waxcaps. Hygrocybe sp.

In the burnt area near Girrahween Park, one abundant species is Descolea recedens –

And the remainder of fungi were seen near the climbing crag.

Cuphophyllus austropratensis

Clavulinopsis sp.

And cropping in to reveal this strange insect –

More Clavulinopsis sp. –

Gliophorus graminicolor

And cropping in –

Walking back I photographed some of the many orchids now in flower –

Pterostylis nutans

Pterostylis concinna

Acianthus fornicatus
