I joined the Sydney Fungal Studies Group Inc for their survey at the Waterfall Reserve at Mt Wilson. Conditions were surprisingly fairly dry. it looks like the coast has had most of the recent rain. But we did find a good range of interesting fungi.
Here is a selection of what we observed –
Clavulinopsis fusiformis
Isaria cicadae
This cordyceps type fungi that grows of cicada nymphs was very abundant – like on the previous survey.
Coral fungus
Scutellinia scutellata
Peziza versiculosa
Hericium coralloides
And some Slime Moulds –
Calycina citrina
Isaria cicadae
Hygrocybe sp.
Clavulinopsis amoena
Helotium terrestre
Hygrocybe pseudograminicolor
Gloioxanthomyces chromolimoneus
Hygrocybe anomala and Hygrocybe sp.
Hygrocybe sp.
Hygrocybe taekeri
Clavaria zollingeri
Chlorociboria aeruginascens
Bactridium flavum
Scutellinia scutellata
Hygrocybe sp.
Hygrocybe sp.
Cuphophyllus aurantiopallens
Hygrocybe anomala
Hygrocybe sp.
I think this is Hygrocybe lilaceolamellata –
Slime Mould –
Growing on wood –
We found this species growing on wood. It is perhaps Clitocybe semiocculta (Ossicaulis semiocculta) –
It had been an interesting survey. Many thanks to Trevor and Kerry Millichamp for coordinating and also for a lift up and back.
