Birds at Barton Park – 23 July 2024

Barton Park, which includes the Landing Lights Wetland, has been one of my regular local venues for bird photography, but I had not been there since mid April. Probably due to the fungi season.

So I made my way there via two buses. Part way, I photographed a few birds at the Cooks River near the Princes Highway.

Australasian Darter

Little Pied Cormorant

Now at Barton Park. Here are some Welcome Swallows hunting for insects at Riverine Park –

There were not many birds in the Landing Lights Wetland. No Stilts, and very few ducks. Here is a Silvereye at the hinterland –

Galah

Red Wattlebird

New Holland Honeyeater

The top area is now open, where the old grandstand used to be. There is not that much bird habitat compared to earlier.

Great Egret

Superb fairy-wren

Then a White-bellied Sea Eagle flew overhead –

As usual, it was shooed away by Ravens

It had been a nice morning.
