Birds at Long Reef – 3 May 2025

I made another visit to Long Reef, again with the principal aim of photographing the local Ospreys. I had a reasonable day. There were plenty of Ospreys, but they were not that active compared to other visits.

Aboriginal Art Sites on Kings Tableland – 2 May 2025

Bob and myself travelled up to Kings Tableland to look at a number of Aboriginal art sites. Most of these were in caves on the side of a fairly remote ridge. But the walk was well worth it – as the art was amazing.

Fungi and Orchids at Birdwood Gully – 30 April 2025

I travelled up to Springwood with Sue and we headed down to Birdwood Gully to see what fungi we could find. After recent rain, I was quite hopeful that a lot would be out, but we were a bit disappointed. We found some nice fungi, but not as much as were were hoping for, even though the track was quite wet in places, and the leeches were out. But, we also found quite a few orchids in flower.

Forest Path Walk – More Fungi – 28 April 2025

Walking friend Judy had suggested a walk on this day, and I suggested the Forest Path in Royal National Park could be good. The weather was not too kind – we did have some light rain, but we had a pleasant time. We also found a reasonable amount of fungi out.
