Birds at Nurragingy Reserve – 3 April 2025

Sue joined me for another day at Nurragingy Reserve at Doonside.

Compared to other recent visits this turned out to be relatively quiet. We did bump into friend Roger Lembit there and he probably saw better birds than we did, including some raptors.

Here are some of the birds we spotted –

Eastern Yellow Robin

We did well with the Tawny Frogmouth, spotting six.

Here are the first four –

And there was this second pair –

Galahs

White-faced Heron

After visiting the coffee cart, we stopped off at the main pond. Here are some Welcome Swallows

Masked Lapwing

Satin Bowerbirds –

Eastern Rosella

We had been looking for Azure Kingfishers, but only got this fleeting glimpse of one –

Back to some of the Tawny Frogmouths

And we spotted this Turtle

And it was joined by a  second –

And then we spotted an Azure Kingfisher

It did not stay around for long.
