Long Reef continues to be a great place for bird photography. In particular – Ospreys.

When I arrived an Osprey was perched on a rock not too far out on the platform.

A White-faced Heron was passing –

Back to the Osprey –

Another Osprey flew past –

I had waited for this Osprey to take-off, but it flew in a poor direction for photography.

Pied Cormorant

The tide was now low enough to venture out on the platform and look for the migratory birds.

An Osprey was hunting for fish –

It pulled out from its dive and swung around.

Another dive.

It pulled out, but a little later –

It missed the fish.

Red-necked Stint

This Osprey had caught a nice fish –

An another Osprey flew past with a fish –

It landed on a rock, then suddenly took off again.

The Crested Terns and Silver Gulls also took to the air.

A White-bellied Sea Eagle was flying past and alarmed all the birds.

It was now time to head home after another great day.
