Bob and myself travelled back out to Kings Tableland to look at some more Aboriginal art sites. We found most of the sites we were after, but they were not as impressive as the ones seen a week earlier, but they were still very interesting.

Site 1
This was a cave where we found a stone tool.

Here is the tool we found. It is not local rock and has worked edges.

Site 2
A small overhang with a fair bit of art. Most of the art was very hard to discern. I was in charcoal and ochre.
This looks like it could be a boomerang –

This panels was interesting. There are layers of art. The charcoal figure looks like it could be a horse.

Ochre motif –

Back to the horse panel, with the aid of some histogram stretching using iDStretch on my iPhone.

This brings out the ochre motif under the horse. Below, using different settings, the horse is a bit clearer.

Some charcoal art –

This panel looks blank, but the histogram starching brings up a kangaroo –

Go a bit further back –

Another animal, in charcoal –

And back to the horse panel. Juts under the ochre lines appears to be an animal head looking to the right.

Here is Bob in the cave –

And a view from above it.

Site 3
This was on top of a waterfall, quite few sharpening grooves. Here is one –

Site 4
This was a nice occupation cave.

It may have had some not very clear charcoal art.

And perhaps some ochre art –

Site 5
Another occupation cave. Here we found a small charcoal artwork of a human figure.

Kings Tableland is certainly rich with some amazing Aboriginal heritage.
