I took part in the early morning bird survey along The Greenway – from Taverners Hill Light Rail Station to Hawthorne Light Rail Station.

The Silver Gull flew very close to this White-faced Heron and disturbed its hunting somewhat.

At the White-faced Heron nest we observed, only one chick has survived. And one parent was recently killed by a cat. Here is the remaining nestling –
