Nurragingy Reserve – 30 December 2025

I visited Nurragingy Reserve at Doonside with Valerie. We had quite a good day, but did not see as many birds as we were hoping.

    Hi David, what time do you normally visit nurragingy reserve? I went today, it was cloudy with light rain and didn’t see any birds besides the ducks and cormorants at the Chang Lai area. Wonderful photos and blog by the way 🙂

      You need to wander around the bush areas to see the more interesting birds. And learn some calls – eg Sacred Kingfisher or Oriole – so you can look out for them if you hear them. The fire trail that goes around the perimeter (Kookaburra Trail?) can be good.

      When I visit – it is typically from 9 am till 2 pm.
