Fungi at Wolli Creek – 4 June 2026

After a morning spent at Ferndale Park at Chatswood, I travelled by metro and train to Tempe and then crossed the Cooks River into Waterworth Park and after stopping for lunch, I walked up Wolli Creek, through Wolli Creek Regional Park to Earlwood. I did not find a real lot of fungi out.

These ones below were in Waterworth Park, and I could see a lot more in the nearby, but fenced off, velodrome. They could be Chlorophyllum nothorachodes.

This fly was on one –

This polypore was further along the path. Perhaps Perhaps Inonotus albertinii

I had to walk a fair way on to find these Gliophorus graminicolor. All were very small.

Clavulinopsis sp.

Cruentomycena viscidocruenta

Clavulinopsis amoena

Russula rosea

Cuphophyllus austropratensis

I also saw quite a few Greenhood Orchids along the track.

Trim Greenhood Orchid – Pterostylis concinna
