I went for a bid photography walk along the Cooks River – downstream from Illawarra Road to Gough Whitlam Park, then crossed at Tempe to the north side and had a look at the new Gumbramorra Wetlands.
WhenI started off, it was fairly quiet along the river. Lower down near the SWSOOS I did spot a White Faced Heron –
It was unusual on this visit – I could not find the Tawny Frogmouths in Gough Whitlam Park. An Eastern Rosella was trying out this rather dilapidated nest box –

I then crossed to the other side of the Cooks River. I inspected the fine new boat launching facility at the River Canoe Club –
Not far upstream is the newly constructed Gumbramorra Wetlands.
It had been very dry weather, so the ponds are not filled with water at present.

I crossed back over to the south side, and then walked back upstream to Illawarra Road.
