Last weekend I returned to the Grose River, walking from Mt Victoria to Blackheath. I was hoping that the wattle would be in full flower. The wattle was good, although perhaps not as a good as a previous walk two years ago.
I started by walking out to Victoria Falls Lookout and the down to the Falls and then to the Grose River at Burra Korain Flat.
Then straightforward walking along the river to Blue Gum Forest and setting up camp at nearby Acacia Flat.
I headed back into Blue Gum Forest on Sunday morning to take photos. I have visited the forest a number of times in recent years, and again I was unsuccessful in getting good photographic conditions.
My return was via Govetts Creek and then to Govetts Leap and then to Blackheath via Popes Glen. This final bit is a nice walk that minimises the road walking. I didn’t see too many other walkers except a big group of Wild Woman striding along the track near Junction Creek.
