Fungi and Slime Moulds at Ferndale Park – 11 March 2020

I made another visit to Ferndale Park to check on the progress of the fungi there. I was hoping recent rain may have increased the fungal abundance – but when I arrived, things were not too special.

Delicatula integrella

Here are some photos of the fungi. First some jelly fungi, Tremella mesenterica –

In the first and last photo, you can also see some smaller black ball shaped organisms. It is Hypoxylon bovei.

Now some coral fungi –

Not that much out at present, but it was good to see the yellow clubs, Clavulinopsis amoena appear.

I looked for waxcaps, but they don’t seem to have appeared, except perhaps for this one –

It looks like Hygrocybe griseoramosa.

Quite a few members of the genus Trogia were out –

The second photo shows the cross linkings of the gills which is typical of this genus.

Some more –

Here are some more Delicatula integrella.

And some Cyptrotrama asprata

The next photo shows a small delicate fungus growing on a dirt bank. I have seen this before and don know what it is.

Here are some of the slime moulds –
