Cooks River Birds Update – 30 November 2020

This is just an update on the status of some of the Tawny Frogmouths and other birds along the Cooks River.

First stop was to see how a Willie Wagtail nest was going.  One parent was squashed into the nest with its two chicks.

Then one of the chicks pushed its head up.

That parent left the nest as the second parent turned up with some food.

Then to the Boat Harbour Tawny Frogmouth family. They seemed to be doing well.

Then across the river and down to Younger Avenue. No change to the Tawny Frogmouth sitting on the nest.

I then cycled down to near Gough Whitlam Park. From the path side I could not see the chick. But I could see it from the side.
