Visit to Evatt and Poulton Parks – 15 February 2022

This was an enjoyable outing with Digi Dave to visit two parks in southern Sydney. We first visited H V Evatt Memorial Park and the Blackbutt Trail at Lugarno.

After checking out the pond, we started off down the Blackbutt Trail.

This is a pleasant walk around the foreshore of Salt Pan Creek.

Sulphur-crested Cockatoo –

We were hoping t spot the Owlet Nightjar that I had seen on an earlier visit. But we had no luck.

Here is a Sacred Kingfisher

And here is a Scaly-breasted Lorikeet

And their hollow –

Brown Thornbill

Back at the pond, we photographed some of the Dragonflies

We then headed to the Oatley Hotel for lunch. Afterwards we went to Poulton Park in South Hurstville. This has a nice strip of remnant bushland. I knew Sacred Kingfishers had been observed here recently, but by this time of the day, it was perhaps too hot for them to be out.

Thanks to Digi Dave for the driving.
