I joined Brian Everingham and party from The National Parks Association of NSW for a trip to celebrate World Wetlands Day. We visited a number of sites.
First stop was Woolooware Wader’s Lagoon –
Black-faced Cuckoo-shrike
White-faced Heron
We also saw this rather emaciated Red-bellied Black Snake. Snake expert, Ken, in the party, thought that it may have been eating a lot off frogs, and become full or their worms.
Grey Butcherbird
We then headed to the viewing platform at Quibray Bay.
Pied Oystercatchers
Eastern Curlew
And some very distant Bar-tailed Godwits –
We then headed to Potter Point, and walked along the coast to the Boat Harbour.
