Wolli Creek Walk – 24 February 2024

In the afternoon, I caught a bus to Bexley North and set off down the Two Valleys Track – through Wolli Creek Regional Park. I was on the lookout for fungi and birds. The fungi turned out to be very poor.

Here are some of the things I saw along the track –

Tiger Moths

Laughing Kookaburras

The same fungus that I had photographed on my previous walk down the valley. Perhaps Tyromyces merulinus

Silvereye

Brown Gerygone

White-browed Scrubwren

Willie Wagtail

Red-browed Finch

At Girrahween Park, I stopped to look for birds. Here is the Cymbidium suave (orchid) –

Variegated Fairy-wren

Golden Orb Weaver Spider

White-browed Scrubwren

This is a small bolete –

And I don’t not know what this one is –

Grey-headed Flying Foxes –

White-faced Heron

I walked as far as Turrella Reserve – then caught trains home.
