I was on a short visit to Tasmania to see my Sister and her husband. But while there, I was also keen to see some of the fabulous fungi that Tasmania is famous for. However, this time, I was visiting during a drought. Would any fungi be out? The first place my sister and myself visited was reassuring – Ferndene Reserve, at the base of the Dial Range near Penguin.
It was quite dry, but we still managed to find some reasonable fungi.
Lots of logs were covered with small grey blobs, Leucogloeo compressa –
I am not sure what this is, probably Cortinarius sp. –
Clavulina cristata
There were quite few small white mushrooms growing amongst the moss. Here are some –
Pluteus aff.atromarginatus
Leucocoprinus sp.
Very tiny white cups growing on a log –
Rhodocollybia sp.
Perhaps Henningsomyces candidus –
Marasmius sp.
Unknown –
Mycena sp.
Unknown –
This could be Mycena mulawaestris –
Laccaria sp.
Psathyrella echinata
Helotium tasmanicum complex –
Mycena lazulina
Armillaria sp.
More white discs –
Macrolepiota sp.
Perhaps Mycena mulawaestris –
Unknown species –
Clavulina tasmanica
Laccaria sp.
This was a reasonable start. Thanks to Genevieve Gates for some of the i.d’s.
