The big wet spell and ended – and I was keen to get outdoors into the bush. I thought the tracks may be wet and creek crossings tricky with high water, so I decided a short walk may be the best. I decided to head to Springwood and visit Birdwood Gully.
It was far too early after the rain for a lot of new fungi to be out. I did see some new coral fungi – Clavulinopsis sp.
And here is some fo the other fungi –
The Toothed Jellies were doing very well. Pseudohydnum gelatinosum –
I could have taken a lot more photos, but I was having a bit of trouble with my tripod, and the ground underneath was also very moist.
Further along the track, I spotted the Pink Coral Fungus that I had seen last visit, but it was quiet waterlogged, so I didn’t take any photos. I also spotted some new Gomphus sp. emerging –
And one last coral –
Even though the creek crossing turned out to be very easy, the track was very wet. Too wet for me to want to walk back along it – so I ended up doing the circuit, and returned via Bednal Road.
It was still early, so I caught a train down to Glenbrook to check out Glenbrook Gorge in high water.
