Fungi (and Orchids) at Wolli Creek – 30 July 2022

I joined the Sydney Fungal Studies Group Inc and members of the Wolli Ck Preservation Society for their second fungal survey of Wolli Creek Regional Park for the year. At present, conditions are not very good for fungal fruiting. Too much rain has fallen! Nevertheless, we did spot some reasonable fungi.

Ramariopsis crocea

Here is some –

This one was going in the grass near the picnic area –

Laccaria sp.

Xylaria apiculata

Postia lactea

Trichoglossum hirsutum

Ramariopsis crocea

Phaeolus schweinitzii

Hexagonia tenuis

Gliophorus graminicolor

Aleurina ferruginea

Hydnum repandum

Entoloma sp.

Perhaps Hygrocybe leucogloea

Perhaps Singerocybe clitocyboides

Clavulinopsis amoena

Trametes coccinea

Thelephora terrestris

Phellinus robustus

Gymnopilus junonius

Descolea recedens

We also saw three different species of Greenhood Orchids along the track.

Pterostylis nutans

Pterostylis pedunculata –

Pterostylis concinna

Thanks to all those people who came along and helped find the fungi. Thanks also to Lachlan Copeland for an orchid id and to Ray and Elma Kearney for advice on the fungi id’s.
